Founded on the eve of the global pandemic that has occupied us since 2020, Godeby Sàrl is a company that provides all possible services in 3 languages (French, English & German): courses, translation, correction, writing, editing. Building on our reputation in the world of expatriates in Switzerland thanks to our founder, we provide solid and knowledgeable expertise for all French language questions. We also want to build knowledge among young people, which is why Godeby Sàrl also offers private lessons for school children. Language is a key to a new world, let’s forge it together!
First of all, I am the founder and director. But above all, I am passionate about French, my mother tongue, which I have studied for a long time (medieval and contemporary language) and which I have been transmitting with a good heart for more than 12 years. Originally from France, I moved abroad for studies on the shores of Lake Geneva, and then for life, I chose Switzerland as my homeland. By creating Godeby Sàrl, – name chosen to honor my father and his origins – I wanted to share my passion and allow people from all over the world to integrate into French-speaking countries without language being a barrier. This vision led me to develop and refine our working method, one that allows you to learn with confidence, easiness, rapidity and gradually.
My passion for the French language obviously immersed me in the texts of which I take care with dedication and for which I offer you all my attention.
Age: 22 years old
Studies: After earning a Bachelor's degree in Forensic Science from UNIL, I have just started a Master's degree in Law for Judicial Professions. It's a real challenge since I'm completely changing disciplines!
My job: I have been working for Godeby for 2 years now, and I still enjoy the challenge it presents. Diverse profiles and content are all I need to keep having fun.
Languages: As a native French speaker, I was fortunate to learn English while living in South Africa and then in Canada during my childhood. I also learned Spanish and the basics of German through my academic journey, but especially by traveling.
Hobbies: I love traveling, playing sports (whatever they may be!), listening to music, starting new projects for which I initially have no skills, and always learning more about the subjects that fascinate me.
My work: Bilingual from birth and certified teacher in both languages, I teach French and English to professionals and individuals with interest and passion. I make my lessons relevant and interesting, and help you communicate effectively.
Studies: Graduated in English Literature and History as well as in Economics, I am also a certified teacher: FLE (Cavilam) and English language (CAPES).
Languages: French and English, of course, I also have a good understanding of Dutch after spending a year in Amsterdam.
Hobbies: I like running, doing fitness, and I love martial arts.
Age: 20 years old
Studies: I am currently studying my final year of a Bachelor's degree in the Faculty of Arts, in English and Cinema.
My job: As a student in the Humanities, languages have always interested me. Today, I am happy to be able to teach French with enthusiasm and kindness.
Languages: My two native languages are French and Spanish, which were passed down
to me by my Ecuadorian mother. I also speak English, which I study at the University.
Hobbies: I love spending my time walking in the forest or by the lake, listening
to music, or watching anime. I also engage in various sports (pole
dancing, skiing, gymnastics) that help me stay in shape and disconnect
my mind from the day's events.
Age: 33 years old
Studies: I have completed studies in French, German, and Italian languages and literatures. I have also been trained in the field of French as a Foreign Language (FLE).
My work: I am a teacher for children and a trainer for adults. For ten years, I have been teaching German, French, Italian, and Philosophy, and what I love most about this profession is the aspect of diversity.
Languages: With German as my mother tongue, Italian as my father's language, and having always lived in French-speaking Switzerland, I am trilingual.
Hobbies: Reading, going to the theater, and discovering local wines.
Age: 23 years old
Studies After completing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of Lausanne, I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Ethnobotany at the University of Kent (United Kingdom).
My job: Being naturally organized, I am delighted to assist the Godeby team in scheduling. I look forward to meeting you virtually!
Languages: As a native French speaker, I began learning German, English, and Spanish during my schooling before perfecting them by living a year in Germany during my gymnasium, as well as going to Chile during my Bachelor's and completing my Master's in the UK.
Hobbies: I love reading and traveling, both of which allow me to discover new landscapes and cultures. As a great lover of the mountains, I greatly enjoy snowboarding in winter and hiking in summer. Since my childhood, I have been doing gymnastics and am now trying out trampolining.
Age : 21 years old
Studies:vI am in my final year of a bachelor's degree in chemistry and chemical engineering at EPFL and am currently spending an exchange year at the University of Edinburgh.
My job: I enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping people integrate as best as possible into a new country.
Languages: I speak French, English, and Russian fluently and have a good foundation in German.
Hobbies: Classical and contemporary dance, reading, discovering new places.
Age : 21 years old
Studies : Currently in my first year of a Master's degree in Chemistry at EPFL. I am specializing in Sustainability and Catalysis with elective courses in Computational Chemistry and Physics.
My job: I enjoy talking with people in general and believe that we can always learn something, no matter who we are speaking with!
Languages: I was lucky to grow up in a multilingual environment, with a Catalan mother, a German father, a Bolivian housekeeper, all in Geneva while attending an International school. Thus, I speak French, German, English, Spanish, and Catalan fluently.
Hobbies: For that, I perfectly embody the boy who grew up in Switzerland. A fan of football and skiing, I spend my Saturday afternoons watching as many matches as possible and (almost) all my weekends in winter in the mountains.
Age: 24 years old
Studies: I hold a Bachelor's degree in computer engineering and a double Master's degree in micro and nano-technologies for integrated systems (EPFL, Grenoble INP Phelma, PoliTo).
My job: I am currently continuing my studies as a computer engineer in the field of Machine Learning. I enjoy developing systems and optimizing them. I believe that mathematics and science are fundamental to understanding our world and they are fascinating. I love sharing my knowledge in the private lessons I give on the side.
Languages: I speak English, Italian, and Russian fluently. And I speak a little French and Spanish.
Hobbies: Traveling, playing the piano, and horseback riding.
